Non-confidential Abstract:

Postpartum hemorrhage is when a woman loses too much blood at her birth and it is #1 leading cause of death during childbirth worldwide. The current standard is visual estimation of the blood loss (1/3 grossly underestimated) or a weighed measurement (personnel, time, and equipment intensive). Using biochemistry, our POC device and reagent is being tested currently to produce very quick and more accurate blood volume reading and which can be imbedded into the birth collection drape for easy visualization. Desired key milestones include prototype refinement and testing, FTO, manufacturer identification, initial small batch production and real-world testing.
