Background
Approximately 17% of strokes occur in the hospital and remain undetected for several hours, many times post-operative. In-patients strokes are identified via neurologic assessments, which are difficult to perform frequently enough for rapid detection. Reducing time to effective stroke interventions can lead to reduced patient morbidity and mortality.
