Unmet Clinical Need

Dry eye disease (DED) is a common disease with shockingly few FDA-approved drug options, partially because of the difficulties of modeling the complex pathophysiology in human eyes. There is a significant need for new and reliable techniques for assessing ocular complications. These techniques could also lead to innovative approaches towards drug delivery and the real-time monitoring of ocular health.

Proposed Healthcare Solution

Blinking, in-vitro model of the human ocular surface that can be used as an organ stand-in to study eye diseases and drug treatment testing
