Medical Device Shared Shelf Collection

Penn Health-Tech and the Biomedical Library are proud to launch a new initiative: the Medical Device Shared Shelf Collection. The collection will catalog a variety of expired medical devices that students and researchers alike can utilize to reverse engineer and better design new device prototypes. The collection is found in the Penn Libraries database, and items can be checked out at the Biomedical Library. Once checked out, the device is yours to keep.

Available items can be found through the Biomedical Device Shared Shelf Collection database . Once you find an item that interests you, open its catalog record and locate the object number in the Title section, formatted as OBJ #. Visit the Biomedical Library and present your Penncard and the object number to the staff at the Information Desk. Users will need to sign a waiver before receiving their device.

For more information, please contact Victoria Berenholz at Penn Health-Tech or Barbara Cavanaugh or at the Biomedical Library.
